Living in Louisiana, we get crawly pests year round. One of the hardest to get rid of and keep gone are ants. We have big ants, little ants, fire ants, sugar ants, you name it, we have ants. We also hate chemicals. I was so glad to get this Neem Oil to try out on our ant population. I first made an insect repellant, because we also have gnats, mosquitos and no see'ums. I made this with the UpNature Neem Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Aloe Vera, vegetable glycerin, and essential oils (most insects are drawn to geranium oil or mint oils). The Aloe Vera liquid (or you can use witch hazel, or distilled water) is easy to shake up and blends the Neem Oil perfectly. Applied to the skin it worked perfectly, avoiding bites, nibbles and annoyances from pests. It worked so well that I thought I would make a pesticide to spray outside. I made this up with the UpNature Neem Oil, honey, borax, dishwashing liquid, tea tree oil, lemon oil and warm water. We sprayed it all around the foundation of our house. It was terrific. UNi 100% Rosehip Seed Oil is 100% Wonderful

I have used Rosehip Seed Oil for many of my blends for hair, skin, nails and scalp. The UNi Rosehip Seed Oil is especially great to use because the Rosehips are Organic, Fragrance Free and very fresh. This rose-colored oil spreads easily and is absorbed quickly. It moisturizes, heals and protects delicate skin. It also revives limp or frizzy hair, allowing more manageability, shine, and style. It also reduces dryness and itchiness of the scalp. It works well to soften and reduce calluses on the feet and to soften cuticles and rehydrate and protect nails. Rosehip seed oil is very economical as only a small amount is needed. Generally, when I use this in my blends, I measure in drops and it provides it's benefits. It is quite a dry oil, so it's not greasy and will absorb into the skin/hair/scalp/nails.

One of my recipes is for my Hair Helper. I start with:
20 drops of argan oil,
mix in 10 drops of UNi Rosehip Seed Oil,
pierce and add the contents of 1 Vitamin E capsule,
add 3-5 drops of essential fragrance oil, or vanilla, or scented oil or even a few drops of perfume,
add 1 pinch of pearlized mica powder (you can even use a light colored eye shadow, but only a tiny pinch as this will provide a pearlescent shine to the hair)
I shake well before using and only use a few drops at a time, applied to my palm, then both palms are rubbed together and smoothed lightly on hair and scalp.
This recipe can also be diluted with fractionated coconut oil to make a shine spray.
I make up this recipe for my friends and put it in small bottles to share.

Overall I definitely recommend UNi's Rosehip Seed Oil for all the benefits to skin, hair and nails and it's usefulness in blends for the whole body. Even when used by itself it is a hydrating, healing and soothing product without harmful chemicals or additives.

Lipogaine Premium Hair Loss Prevention Shampoo is Great for Cleaning and Shine of Your Hair

The Lipogaine Hair Loss Prevention Shampoo contains ketoconazole, which is the main ingredient in most hair loss shampoos. However, this Shampoo is free of parabens and sulfates, which are chemicals that can problems over time. It also contains Biotin and Emu Oil, both of which can improve the health and appearance of your hair and reduce the dryness that can be caused by ketoconazole. This is a mild, minty shampoo. It lathers into almost a foam and feels great on the scalp. I usually apply and lather the shampoo and leave it on my hair for a minute or two. I love the mint fragrance. Shea Butter Wisdom's 100% Pure Organic, Unrefined, Raw Shea Butter Is So Beneficial

I have learned that shea butter is one of the best ingredients in body and face creams, hair conditioners, and skin treatments. Shea Butter Wisdom's Organic, Raw, Unrefined Shea Butter is very pure, which means nothing is added to it and there is no chemical processing. Shea butter actually contains beneficial vitamins A, D, E, and F which combine to improve the hydration and healing of skin or scalp. Prepare the Shea Butter by making sure it is at room temperature. This allows easy whipping. I do not advocate heating shea butter as that can cause graininess and separation.
Measure 4 oz. room temperature shea butter into a small bowl. Mash the shea butter with a fork. Add 2 Tablespoons of a base oil, such as olive oil, argan oil, or fractionated coconut oil. Continue to mash in this oil until the mixture is lightweight. Add 10 to 20 drops of essential oil, such as lemon, peppermint, cinnamon, lavender or even vanilla. For even more impact, you can add the oil from 1-2 vitamin E capsules. After each addition, continue to mash, then whip the butter. Add a pinch of mica pearlescent powder, such as ivory eyeshadow. This gives a pearlescent hue to the finished butter. Continue whipping the butter with the fork until it becomes very light and fluffy. Drop the butter into a container and it is ready to apply to the skin or use with any hair conditioner. This is my favorite body butter and it is great to apply to the legs or arms, especially during winter months when the skin can get dry and flakey. This body butter helps to hydrate, heal, and seal the moisture in the skin. I definitely recommend Shea Butter Wisdom's Organic Shea Butter for all skin, hair, nails and scalp treatment. Royal Locks Pro Curl Cream Adds Volume and Definition Improving Hair

The Royal Locks Pro Curl Cream makes my hair beautiful, full, and shiney. It can be applied to wet or dry hair. It does have a scent when applied to dry hair, and while it's a pleasant scent it can interfere with perfumes or other scents. I found that applying it to wet/damp hair, after shampoo and conditioning worked the best and really left no scent. Either way, this Curl Cream produces exceptional volume and curl. Only a small amount is needed, making this very economical. I used half a pump on my chin length hair and it was more than enough. It is easy to use and absorbs quickly. When I apply it to my wet hair I usually twist the hair to help the curl. After it air dries, just fluffing it up with my fingers produces a perfectly styled curl coif. You can also use this as a setting lotion, even diluting it slightly. The great thing about the Pro Curl Cream is that you never know it's there. My hair stayed soft and separated. It does not weigh down my hair or clump or stick. It contains Argan Oil to boost shine. It really makes hair appear and feel healthy and strong. The Detangler Brush Works Like Magic

I have several detangler brushes, but this one is my favorite because it is the perfect size to fit in my hand. I do not know how the detangler brush works it's magic, but it easily, carefully and completely moves through my wet or dry hair without pulling, snagging or clumping up the hair into a knot. I have used products from ISA Professional before and have liked all of them. This Organic Argan Oil is no exception. This lightweight amber Argan Oil spreads easily and absorbs quickly. It is not greasy, sticky or oily on the skin. I also mix 2 dropperfulls of the oil in my hair conditioner so my hair and scalp benefit with every time I shampoo and condition. The great thing about Argan Oil is that a little goes a long way. One or two drops does all 10 of my nails and cuticles. Leven Rose Organic Jojoba Oil for Skin and Hair

Leven Rose Organic Jojoba Oil is a light and delicate oil. It is unscented and comes in an amber glass bottle, which protects against pollutants and oxidation from light. Best of all, it is 100% Organic. This is a rather dry oil, and it doesn't leave a greasy or oily residue. I wanted to try it in different situations to see how it worked for me. I added a few drops to my conditioner after shampooing and it left my hair soft and manageable. I rubbed it into my nails and cuticles. After cleansing I used it on my face. It removed the last bit of my makeup and absorbed readily into my skin. It showed immediate hydration and smoothed fine lines and wrinkles. I also used this to make a whipped body butter:
2 oz room temperature Raw Shea Butter, mashed, then add
1 T. Leven Rose Organic Jojoba Oil, mash again, then add
10 drops of Essential Oil, stir rapidly until it is all incorporated and forms a soft, whipped butter consistency. Use a small amount daily to revive dry skin. I made this for a friend who was recovering from surgery and rubbed it into her skin and it helped to rehydrate the skin and stop flaking and itching. She also said she planned to use it for her eczema patches.

Overall, I was impressed with this Jojoba Oil. It benefits hair, face, and skin all over. I love that it is Organic and unscented. It blends well with other ingredients to form body butters, hair conditioners, dry oils, and skin creams. I have used other shampoos with no sulfates or parabens and most of them did not produce a lather and left the hair feeling not quite cleans. The Regenepure NT Shampoo starts with a fresh clean scent. Using only a capful for my chin length hair it immediately started cleaning and formed a nice lather. I could actually feel my hair getting softer as I shampooed. When I rinsed, my hair remained soft and I could tell it was squeaky clean. Lift Care Essential Oils 5X Lemon Oil is Strong, Fruity and Fabulous

The Lift Care 5X Lemon Essential Oil is made from 100% pure cold extracted lemon rinds. I believe that this process produces a much fruitier fragrance than other lemon oils. It does not have that strong lemon cleaner scent of some other lemon oils. Additionally, since it is a stronger oil you can use less to get the same or better results. It is very cost effective. This Lemon Oil comes in a 4 oz. amber glass bottle with eyedropper. It is a product of Italy and distributed by a USA supplier, Lift Care. I used this lemon oil throughout my house, as well as in health and beauty products. It produces a fresh, clean scent when mixed with vinegar, water or other cleaning ingredients and works well on all hard surfaces. I also use this Lemon Oil on my solid wood furniture to give a glossy shine, rehydrate the wood and leave the whole room lightly scented. One of my favorite uses is to add a few drops to my garbage disposal before running it. Not only does it keep the disposable blades clean, it also removes nasty odors and again, scents my kitchen with lemony freshness. As with many essential oils, I find mixing it with a carrier, such as fractionated coconut oil, jojoba oil or shea butter reduces the chance of any skin sensitivity to the pure oil. I place a few drops in my shampoo, conditioner, face creams and hand and body lotions. It lifts my spirits when I catch the scent. It also seems to add to the cleaning power of my shampoo and helps both the shampoo and conditioner clean better, removing the build-up of hair products. While it doesn't change my hair color, it does seem to bring out the blond highlights in my hair. I really enjoyed using this Lemon Oil. It is definitely one of the best I have tried. One caution is that you should not go in the sun immediately after using the oil, as it can make the skin more sensitive to burning. Let it absorb, then use sunscreen. Once it is all absorbed you should be able to go out. There are many more uses for lemon oil and I plan to try this great product for more of them.

Fantastic Sam's Salon in Central, Louisiana is not the place to go for any kind of professional haircut

I wanted to get my hair cut and didn't want to take time to drive somewhere so I thought I would give Fantastic Sam's a try. I live in the city of Central in Louisiana and this salon is quite close to my home. I just walked in and told the stylist that I wanted a regular haircut. There were no other customers in the salon. She took me to her station and started the consultation. I told her that I wanted quite a bit of length cut and that I wanted it to be chin length and in layers. She didn't seem to understand what I meant by layers and I asked if she had some pictures so I could show her what I meant. She brought the book and I pointed out 3 hair styles that were very close to what I wanted. She asked where to cut my bangs and I said they should be at the top of my eyebrows. Then she grabbed her spray bottle and sprayed my hair and began cutting. I was somewhat surprised by this as the Fantastic Sam's headquarters website talks about all of their cuts having a Fantastic Sam's shampoo therapy. This was my first hint that things would not go as planned. As the stylist was cutting my hair her cellphone kept ringing and twice she even answered it and engaged in conversation with whoever was calling. One call lasted several minutes and she gave no indication that she was busy working. She cut one side of my hair and it looked shorter than I had asked for, she then cut the other side, then she kept going back and forth from side to side trying to get them even. This ended up with my hair now being ear length, which is quite a bit shorter than chin length. She asked about my bangs and I pointed to another style where the bangs were feathered, not a straight cut across. She then cut my bangs straight across and they ended up at least 2 finger widths above my eyebrows. She offered to blow dry my hair, but by that time I just wanted to go home. I was embarrassed at how my hair looked. I decided to wash and dry my hair when I got home. It didn't look any better. I went to the FS main website to write up a complaint, but it said since each store was individually owned complaints should go to the owner/manager. I was not about to get into a confrontation with an owner. It is just sad that this franchise seems to have no basic standards that each salon has to follow, and doesn't even care enough about the customer to have a process to resolve issues and complaints. I will never go to any Fantastic Sam's again and I plan to tell all my friends to never go there. So, as I do so many reviews on my blog, here is another, but it's a sad tale of woe about a business that used to be quite good, but has salons that can just do what they want to do. While 1 rave review may bring in some customers, all it takes is 1 negative review to drive many more away. So, go anywhere but here for your salon services. They get an F for failing to treat the customer right.

The Product: The directions say to pump a small amount into palms, apply for 10 minutes, 2 hours or overnight, then shampoo, and can apply a small amount as needed for a styling fluid and restorative elixir. It only takes a few pumps to dispense enough to cover ends and about 7 inches of hair to the roots. Immediately, it smoothed my hair, added a great shine, and helped my hair look hydrated. The next day, I shampooed and applied conditioner. I could tell that the Hair Repair Oil had done it's work. My hair remained smooth, hydrated, and had a glossy shine. I did add a little bit to smooth the sides of my hair where I had not fully applied it. This is the first product that has actually lasted beyond a shampoo. My hair remained hydrated and glistening for 2 days until my next shampoo. Even after that my hair looked more hydrated and was much easier to manage. I have continued my use of this product, using it about once a week to maintain the look of clean, shiny and manageable hair. It is not greasy and did not seem to go anywhere other than into my hair shaft. No mess on pillows or clothes. It has definitely improved my hair's texture, as it is usually dry and frizzy. Now it is much smoother and I have significantly less problems with the frizziness. I do sometimes use a tiny amount between treatments if my hair does become frizzy. I have had many compliments on my hair since using the Total Hair Repair Oil. I do plan to continue use of this product because it actually works and has kept my hair looking great. While you might not get exactly the same results, I think overall you will be satisfied that the product does what it says. My big piece of advice is to not use too much. You can always add more, but if you get too much on the hair it might look oily.
