Pretty bottles for your mixing needs

This 10 ml frosted blue glass bottle is a slightly larger size. It comes ready to fill, with the roller ball separate. You can use an eye-dropper or funnel to fill the bottle. I like that the bottle is glass and also cobalt blue, which really helps keep the filling free from oxidation due to sunlight or indoor light. I used these bottles to hold my blended mixes. One is my Hair Helper: 40 drops of argan oil,
20 drops of Rosehip Seed Oil or Jojoba Oil, 5 drops of Vitamin E Oil, and 6-10 drops of essential fragrance oil, or vanilla, or scented oil or even a few drops of perfume, fill the remainder with fractionated coconut oil and shake well. I then fit the roller ball into the bottle and when I'm fixing my hair, all I need to do is roll-on the Helper onto my hair. I love that it is easy to use and does not make a mess, like some spray bottles. It also helps me to not overuse the product. The only negative is that the price is a bit high, but when you compare how much essential oils, argan and other oils cost, making your own can really save you money. I do recommend these pretty bottles for your essential oil mixing needs.

Spork....SpoKniFro...Any way you use it, it's great

I have long coveted having a metal utensil that was a combined spoon, fork and knife. Finally, I have one that is just perfect and I believe will last my lifetime. The OutSmart Titanium Spork actually has a separate spoon and fork. It also has a serrated cutting edge, like a knife. I love titanium. It is a space age material that is incredibly strong, yet unbelievably lightweight. This Spork can go in your purse, pocket, backpack, or combined with any other cooking and eating utensils. I use it often for dinner where I can eat most of it with the fork portion, then flip it to scoop up those last peas with the spoon and can cut with the serrated edge. This is a base titanium, sort of a silvery grey color. It is unobtrusive, but when noticed I get tons of questions....what is it?.....how does it work?.....where can I get one. This is the perfect blending of form and function. I definitely recommend the OutSmart Titanium Spork for everyone, and even suggest getting more than just one, get one for every member of your family and your friends. It's a novel item, but it is the way of the future.

Little Roseberry Hair Detangler for Kids, and Their Adults

I know I know, it says it's for kids, but...... I love it too. This is a great detangling spray for kids and adults. It makes it so much easier to run a brush or comb through hair, whether it is straight hair, wavy or curly. It really reduces the frizz, which can be the cause of much tangling while shampooing. As the hair dries it absorbs the moisture from the environment and frizzes up. If you don't comb or brush the hair right after shampooing you are left with knots and pulls, but that is why spraying this detangler right after shampoo and conditioning will help. I generally do use shampoo, conditioner, a leave-in cream and then as the very last step I spray this detangler. It has no real scent, is quick and easy to use, and definitely leaves my hair softer. It is more manageable throughout the day and really seems to not develop the usual tangles between washes. I live in Louisiana, the home for humidity, and this really works. #littleroseberry

Copy, design, create, color, wear, repair - All from Polly Plastics Products - Part 2 - Polly Plastic Strips

Working with Polly Plastics Strips is quick and easy. See Part 1 for helpful hints. Basically, you decide how you want to use the strip. I tried several things. I plan to use the "pulled" feathers in a large multi-media work. To pull, you just heat up the strip until it becomes transparent, gently lift it out of the hot water, flatten it and then grasp a small part of the strip and pull outwards. With practice you can control the size, thinness, and shape of the pulled item. You can also let the strip get soft and transparent and then gently mold it in your hands. You may need to reheat it in the water, especially if you are working on a large project. Also, you can use the strip with a pre-wet rubber stamp to stamp your impression onto the strip. This will quickly and effectively get a design. You should make sure you are not using the children's playset stamps as these may be made of plastic themselves and they could bond to the strip, making removal difficult or impossible. Then just rub on paint, markers or pencils/pens. For permanence, whatever you put on the plastic should dry and not be able to be removed. You can try to just cover the top of the item or get the paint into the grooves and then wipe off the top. Whenever you are working with heat, you should always have a bowl of cold or ice water nearby in case of spills or if the heat becomes too much when manipulating the products. Overall, I recommend the Polly Plastics Strips to quickly make objects, especially square or rectangular small strips or small objects.

Copy, design, create, color, wear, repair - All from Polly Plastics Products - Part 1 - Silicon Mold and Polly Pellets

I love thermoplastics. They are the type of plastic that you can easily melt with hot water and form into anything in your imagination or need for your toolbox. Polly Plastics has taken this a step further by providing the 2 components to form a rapid setting silicone mold. This review will cover making a mold and forming items using the plastic pellets. Part 2 of the next post will cover working with the plastic strips to form items and objects.

Making the mold: This could not be simpler. Take equal parts of the Part A and Part B substances. I used a separate plastic spoon, marked and one for each to avoid cross-contamination. I also used a teflon mat to protect my counter. You could also use a sheet of wax paper or even parchment paper. Then knead the two substances together. It will change from a white and blue striped wad to a light blue wad with no white streaks. I will admit, the first time I did this I didn't knead it long enough and there was a bit of the plain white showing. I was lucky, even this formed the mold properly, but I definitely recommend to knead it fully to blend. I then rolled it into a ball form and placed it on my teflon sheet and pressed my item into the ball to fully cover the item. I used a cabinet knob and a medium sized button as my original form. Both are metal. I would not recommend trying to make a mold out of a plastic part. If you really need to, I would suggest either coating the original part in a small amount of oil or dusting it with powder/cornstarch. I did notice that the fully kneaded ball seemed soft and "slidey", but I just would not trust it to release from a plastic piece once cured. You do not want to see any of the item showing or pushing through the light blue ball. I let the item "cure" for a full 30 minutes. At the end of that time, the blue mold was still slightly damp, so I let it "cure" a few more hours. I live in Louisiana and have very high humidity. I think that is why it took longer. When I removed my item from the mold, the mold was still flexible, but the imprint was firm. I do recommend using an item that will transfer a larger design, rather than a design with many fine lines and details. I also noticed there was a bit of the blue material remaining in one of the items I used to mold. I was able to wipe this off easily from my item. It was in an area with a lot of fine detail, but it didn't affect the appearance of the mold. I was ready to proceed to the making of my plastic piece using the mold. Here are pictures of the "Making the mold" process:

Creating the item: Once I am satisfied with my mold, I take the pellets and pour them into the mold. I level them off roughly with some slightly higher than the top of the mold. This gives me a good idea of how much of the pellets I need. I pour these into my spoon & gently set it in the water. This is a glass spoon, but I would also use a metal spoon. Make sure these items are dedicated solely to crafting and not used for cooking or eating. I have a nice little cooker that I've used for many years to make a variety of things requiring heat. This is perfect to heat up the water to melt the pellets or strips in. I set it on it's lowest setting which is approximately 150 degrees. I place a folded piece of foil in to assist in retriving melted pellets if any spill. Also, I keep a bowl of cold water near my work area to quickly quench fingers or hands if they start getting too hot or burning. Within just a minute or two the pellets turn from white to clear and start sticking together. I remove the spoon and slide the pellets into my mold. I press firmly to push the pellets fully into the mold. Then I take the mold and turn it upside down and press so that the back of the item is flat. Once it is all cooled I remove and dry off the item. I can also sand, trim or drill the item. Then I can paint or color it. Here are pictures of me making my items from the molds:

This is a great product for DIYers, crafters, fishermen/women, modelers or anyone needing to create a mold of "something" and then make a copy of that "something". It comes with full directions, but it is good to test the process out when you have plenty of time and it is not a critical component. As you continue making molds and "somethings" you definitely get better at it, but this is fun even for a beginner. I would strongly recommend that children be supervised when using this product. Heat is involved, small pellets are involved and a compounded chemical is involved (even though it is considered safe, it is not something that should be put in the mouth or swallowed). I definitely recommend this product for work, fun, and necessity.

Super-sized Snug Cat Litter Catcher Mat Works Great

This cat litter-catcher mat is super-sized to contain litter from even the most enthusiastic cat. It is 35.4" by 23.5". It's textured top catches and holds litter from the cat's paws or any that is spilled outside the litter box. Then you just shake the mat over the litter box to send all that litter back into the box. This not only helps reduce litter costs, but it keeps the litter from being tracked all over the house. I have 3 cats, they share one large box that is sifted several times a day. One of the cats loves the box and will play with the litter. This, of course, can create quite a mess. This litter catcher mat is large enough to catch any that is thrown into the air. This mat is very easy to clean. I just take it outside, give it a final good shake and hose it off. It could also be rinsed elsewhere. I definitely recommend this litter catcher mat to keep clean-up minimal and tracking of litter through the house down to nothing. It has a 5 year warranty, but looks like it will last much longer than that. A great product, well-made and does what it says.

Nail Art Brushes with a Dot Tool are great for beginners & professionals

These Nail Art Brushes Set come with 7 brushes and a dot tool. The brushes vary from a tiny, slim brush to a short, flat-top brush. There is also the dot tool, which is handy for dotted designs and for dragging colors. The brushes themselves hold their shape, are easy to use and to clean. I mainly do large designs, but even the line brush is useful for placing thin lines between colorblocks. There are 2 flat-top brushes which are great for applying and leveling acrylic powders. I love this set because there is such a variety of brushes for many uses. It gives me all I need in one complete set. The handles are a larger end tapering down to the brush end. They are painted in a design that reminds me of Chinese brush painting. Overall, I recommend this Nail Art Brush set from AStorePlus.

Ohuhu Essential Oils Roller Bottles Are Beautiful, Colorful, and Work Great

These cobalt blue roller bottles have gold caps that are easy to unscrew. They are perfect to hold essential oils, blends, perfume, or other beauty care products. The deep blue color helps protect the contents from oxidation from sunlight. Once the cap is unscrewed for the first time, and before filling, it is a good idea to push and roll the roller ball to get it started. Then you can wiggle off the top of the bottle to add your ingredients. I make a Hair Helper blend for the bottle using Argan oil, Jojoba oil, Rosehip Seed oil and a scented essential oil, such as Sweet Orange. I fill the bottle half full with the Argan oil, then add a few drops of the other oils until full. I use this on my dry hair, rolling it up and down on the hair about 1 inch apart, all the way around. I then brush my hair to distribute the oils. This leaves a healthy, shiny look and reduces frizz on my hair. The bottles look great on my vanity. I have them filled with a variety of blends. They are perfect for gifts. I have had other products from the Ohuhu brand and have found all of them to be high quality. I definitely recommend these rollerball bottles for a pretty way to package your beauty liquids and oils.

Clicks Copper Socks to keep you warm this winter

Copper in socks?, what could that do? and so I took a chance and tried these Click Copper Socks. I'm so glad I did. As soon as I put them on my feet felt cozy and comfortable. They were loose enough so they didn't pinch or compress my ankles or my feet, yet firm enough to stay on well and to hug my feet. The length is perfect to just cover the feet without extending up the leg. They seem to help keep my feet warmer, which is great on tile floors in the winter. I can even put my slippers on with the socks on also. All throughout the day that I wore them my feet stayed comfortable and even after being on my feet and walking for about 4 hours straight I noticed that my feet didn't hurt or feel as worn out as usual. I don't have any clinical evidence or medical tests to prove the copper does anything, all I know is that these are the most comfortable socks I've ever had. And warm feet are happy feet. I definitely recommend these Clicks socks for men and women.
