And the MIRA French Press Travel Mug will keep it hot. This is a very portable, lightweight, double-walled stainless steel French Press Mug/Container. I love tea, especially tea leaves, but often don't have time to brew a whole pot of it. With this MIRA French Press I can put some leaves in the bottom of the Mug and then fill with hot water, usually from the microwave. Then I insert the press and slowly push it down. After that I can screw on the top, let it steep and open the flap to enjoy flavorful, hot tea. It is possible to also add sugar or cream after the press is inserted. I actually didn't think this mug would keep my beverage that hot, so I did a test. I put boiling water in the mug and then inserted the press and measured the temperature through the drink opening. It was 203.2 degrees. I waited an hour and measured again. It was 170.2 degrees. At 2 hours after starting the temperature was 148.8 degrees. And finally, at 4 hours after starting the temperature was 120.7 degrees. I was astonished that it could keep my beverage that hot for that long. Of course, if you want it cooler you can leave the flip top open or add milk or ice cubes to cool it quicker. This MIRA French Press is perfect to bring to work or on the go to have warm/hot beverages. It is easy to use and clean. I definitely recommend this product for perfect French Press beverages any time.

Container: The product comes in a metal can. Once the top is removed there is a pull tab to remove the inner cover. Once this is removed the Tea Powder is contained in a mylar-type bag. This combination of container and linings really protect the delicate tea powder and ensure freshness. The product is stamped as USDA Organic, All Natural Non-GMO, Vegan and Grown in Japan. The net weight is 1 oz. It is recommended that consumption occur within 2 months of opening the product.

The Product: While this tea could be prepared by any usual method, the recommended method for 1 teacup of tea is to place 1/2 teaspoon of the matcha powder into a bowl or cup, add 3 oz. of hot water, whisk in a zigzag pattern until the tea is dissolved and becomes frothy. I found that when making more than 1 teacup full, using a stick blender quickly dissolves and froths the tea. Basically the 1/2 teaspoon is equal to 1 gram of tea powder. The container holds 29 grams of the tea powder, so there are approximately 29 servings per oz. The flavor of the tea is delicate and refreshing, very unlike the average green tea. It also contains more antioxidants than regular brewed green tea. This is due to being able to consume the entire tea leaf which has been ground into a fine powder. The product is a first harvest, which makes it a ceremonial grade. Sugar can also be added if more sweetness is needed, but I found that the flavor is so delicate that it is preferable to drink it without sugar. This is not a tea that you quickly drink, this tea is meant to be savored and sipped slowly. The fresh scent arising from the cup is relaxing and meditative. I enjoyed this tea very much and the ritual of preparation and slow consumption helped me calm down from a busy day.
