It is important to wash the hands right after application so the product is removed from the hands. One of the great things about using this product is that you are not taking prescription pain pills that can be addicting or products with acetaminophen in them that can cause damage to internal organs. I did not experience any side effects while using this cream. One of the active ingredients in this cream is Capsaicin, which is often found in pain patches that are OTC. I have used other products from Vita Sciences and have found them to be of high quality. This is a good product for occasional muscle and joint pain.
