Oral SteriClean UV Portable Sanitizer is one of those products you never think you need, but are glad to have. Many years ago I worked at a hospital that had UV lights over all the entrances and exits to assure workers and patients would not carry germs away with them. This product does the same thing. While UV light does not sterilize, it does sanitize. The product is easy to use and portable, you can take it with you on trips or even have a second one in your office desk, wherever you have a toothbrush. We use our toothbrushes every day, yet fail to really clean them. I think it is because we assume the toothpaste, once rinsed off, will keep the brush clean. However, I can't see bacteria and I finally realized when I got this product, that the only cleaning I had even done of the toothbrush was to infrequently put it in the dishwasher. I don't know if that would actually get rid of all the bacteria or not. This sanitizer is much easier to use where the toothbrush usually resides, in the bathroom. I have a compromised immune system and really appreciate products that lessen potential attacks to my immune system. There is scientific data that UV light does kill bacteria. The small UV light in this product shines exactly on the brush head. It is fast to use and I feel it is effective. While I'm not a scientist and have no proof to put on this blog about how many little bacteria germs did, in fact, get killed, I think this product is useful and helpful.
